The Princess Has Her Day - Part II and III

On Tuesday, April 24th, Avery got a package in the mail from Aunt Wadine and Uncle Tim! There was all sorts of goodies in the package including chapstick, jewelry, a handmade hankie and a jewelry bag!

Here is the hankie Wadine made for Avery. She wrote her a note that she made her one like she and Darlene (Mimi) used to carry as little girls!

She got some really cute necklaces too!

On her actual birthday, Avery had a pizza lunch with 13 of her closest friends :) The party included the Kindergarten class, a few siblings of those friends, her brother and Sadie! They ate pizza and carrots, followed by cupcakes. Next up was pin the crown on the princess followed by pass the poison apple (like hot potato). Avery had a blast and so did all of her little friends!

What would a party be without a few presents? Avery got a cool box with jewelry and make-up items from her best friend Grace!

Mrs. H and Trenton gave her a picture holder so she can put pictures of her friends in it.

Pizza for lunch just wasn't enough! Avery chose Chuck E Cheese for her birthday dinner. Here she is dancing while we waited for dinner.

And again...... She looks so grown up :(

Andy and Daddy were having a good time too :)

Poor Andrew - someone ought to teach him some table manners!!

The birthday princess herself!

Avery on a ride at Chuck E Cheese.

Hey Andy!

Andrew used his tickets to get some cool glasses! Is it just me, or are those baby blues a little freaky?

THEN, on Thursday, Avery had her final celebration. Bethany took her out to Toys'R'Us and Chuck E Cheese! 2 trips to Chuck E Cheese in one week is a good deal for any 6 year old! Bethany said that Avery talked the whole evening. Hard to imagine huh?

A Letter to My Daughter on Her Birthday

Avery,

6 years ago I was on cloud nine because you had arrived. Your daddy and I may have had no idea what we were in store for, but the last 6 years have been the best years of our lives. You have blessed us in ways that you can’t even imagine. Everything we do, we do it for you and your little brother. Nothing matters to us more than your health and happiness.

You are everything a mother could hope for in a little girl. You are beautiful, sweet and kind. You are my helper, my hugger, my snuggler, my reason for being. I am proud to be your mother and proud of the little lady you are becoming. You may fight with your brother, but when you think no one is watching, I see how much you love and nurture him. I love your hugs, your kisses and your smiles. Hearing you laugh can turn my mood around in an instant. You love with all your heart and you tell me every day how much you love me. There are good days and bad, but the good are far more frequent.

I love you my beauty, my smoochie, my baby, my Avery Rebecca. You were my first and you have such a special place in my heart. I hope you know how much I love you.

Love,
Mommy

The Princess Has Her Day!

Today was Avery's 6th Birthday Party! Her actual birthday is on Wednesday, but today she had her party at home. She has been looking forward to this day as only a soon to be 6 year old can :) Today I have heard more "I love you Mommy's" than I generally hear in a week! She has also told me that today was the best day of her life. That makes me happy to hear and glad that all of my efforts were worthwhile!
Avery's first present was one from Mimi and Grandpa Eddie. I think she had some idea she might get a CD player since Andy got one for his birthday. She was SO excited to get this! I have already made her a mix CD of her favorite songs and she went to sleep listening to it.

Here's a picture of Avery and the giant Cinderella card - Aunt Amy got her this card as well and was bummed to see that so did Mimi and Grandpa Eddie! No bother though! I plan to frame one of them and she can display the other one on her dresser :)

Judging by this picture, please select the following correct answer:

a) Avery is excited to get a Disney Princess cash register from Aunt Amy and Jan-Morgan.

b) Avery can't believe she got one of the gifts she most wanted.

c) Avery played with said gift immediately after opening presents.

d) ALL OF THE ABOVE.

(if you answered d, you are correct!!)

Just a picture of a beautiful little princess! She is getting too big :(

Avery loved the Bratz lip gloss doll set from Mommy and Daddy! Mommy wonders why she bought something with SO many pieces to it! It took forever to get all of it out of the box! I shared the wonders of large Ziploc bags with Avery after opening all of those tiny parts!

The Barbie keyboard was high on her list of wants! Andy is quite fond of the keyboard too and even I belted out a few songs over the microphone. They weren't good mind you, but the kids liked them :)

WOW!! Uncle Adam and Uncle Alan gave Avery a new bike for her birthday! Now she has a bike just as shiny and new as the one Andy got last month. I predict many days of riding!

Paw-Paw came up with a neat idea for Avery this year. He gave her a treasure map that led to her gift. Her is Avery reading the treasure map with Wade.

"X" marks the spot!

Digging for buried treasure!

Coffee! Thanks PawPaw, it's just what I always wanted :) Avery thought it was coffee until she opened it up and found it to be FULL of change. We wrapped it all this evening and she came up with a whopping $74 from her PawPaw! This may surprise you - it is already burning a hole in her pocket!

This is my best attempt at a princess cake!

Avery with Mimi and Grandpa Eddie.

Brandon, Katelyn, Susan and Avery!

Avery with Nonny and Poppy :)

Avery with Uncle Robbie, Aunt Jen and her soon to be cousin (set to make his/her debut in late August or early September)!

Avery with Aunt Amy and (Uncle to be) Jan-Morgan! (Note: This picture is Amy approved!)

Avery and her PawPaw :)

Avery approved of her princess cake!

As soon as Caleb realized that dessert was about to be served, he quickly folded his hands because the little guy knows to pray before you eat! He also doesn't want to waste any time getting to the cake :)

Avery had a great day and a big thank you to everyone who made her day special! She is having a pizza party with her school friends on Wednesday and is looking forward to that!

Sleeping, Stealing, Hockey and HEB

Today's post cover quite a few different things! It has been a crazy couple of weeks! I can't wait til summer when I can actually spend some time at home and tackle all of those projects that I don't have time for right now :)

Being 4 is hard for Andrew. Watching cartoons, playing outside and having someone make all of your meals for you - it's rough, but someone has to do it! After a hard day of play, Andy fell asleep right in the middle of the living room floor!
Maybe that's because his sister was asleep on the couch at the same time! At least she goes to school, she has some sort of excuse :)
Before going to the hockey game on Sunday, I could not find my camera. Andrew did NOT know where it was. Several minutes of looking and a bit of yelling later, we found the camera next to Andrew's bed. Hmmmmm, he said he didn't take it though! He also said he didn't turn the camera on. I present you proof that he did just the opposite. He turned it on and took a few incriminating pictures! The one above is his little foot and camo shoes.

And a nice close-up of the little convicts face!

Wade got free Hockey tickets from work, so we attended Sunday's Aeros game. Here are the kids and their daddy!

And a nice shot of Avery showing you just how high up we were :)

Andrew posed as well.....

And finally, a shot of the rink at the Toyota Center!

On Wednesday Avery had a field trip to HEB to learn about food and nutrition. Here she is with her class waiting for their snack at the store!

Here is a group shot of the Kindergarten class. From left to right is Sean, Kaitlyn, Khari, Avery, Kendall, Grace and Madison. Brianna was absent that day.

Anyone know what this plant is? Mom?? I am seeing them everywhere and I like them. I was going to pick a stem the other day to bring home, but the bushes and stems are FULL of tiny thorns. It does not appear to be any type of rose though. I guess that I wouldn't plant them even if I knew what they were because of all the thorns. But, I still want to know what they are!

That's it for now! Avery's birthday party is on Saturday, so I will be sure to post some pictures after her party. Her birthday is next Wednesday and she is having a pizza party at school with her friends :)

AAA - All About Andrew!!!

Today's post is "All About Andrew" Yesterday was field day at his preschool and he had a blast!
Here are Andrew and Katelyn (our goddaughter) coming down the slide from the moonwalk.

What would field day be without some popsicles?

Andrew started out ok in the sack races, but the more he jumped, the more he fell!

Here is Andrew with his favorite teacher, Miss Gabi! She is the teacher who calls him Scooby and gave him a Scooby Doo doll for his birthday.

Andrew is patiently waiting his turn!
Andrew's turn on the balance beam! I must say that he has more balance than his mother :)

Look what came through the tunnel - Andrew :)

Andrew's favorite thing was playing in the moonwalk. On his back you can see all of the ribbons that he won from field day.

Another picture in the moonwalk! His teachers all commented on what a poser he was :) They also told me that Andrew is too funny and is the life of his table. I can't say that I am surprised about that one!

Just a cute picture of Andy.

My little man :)

Andrew looks like he's not too sure about this bouncy ball thing!

Despite his uncertainty, Andrew won the 1st place blue ribbon for the bouncy ball race!

Here is Andrew and a few of his classmates!

Andrew had a great day and fell asleep almost immediately in the car. And true to form, a few minutes sleep in the car meant no nap in the afternoon and a cranky little boy for the rest of the day!
