A Star is Born :)

Yesterday (August 30th) was an AWESOME day! Why you ask? Because Nathan Paul Hahn is officially here! Jen had Nathan yesterday morning at 7:51 a.m.

Here is the first glimpse we got of Nathan through the nursery window! He weighs 8 punds, 3 ounces and is 20 inches long. He is too cute for words :) Oh yeah - that is his proud daddy holding him!

Look at that face! He melts my heart.

And here I am! One of Nathan's many proud Aunts :)

Another close-up of the little guy.

Big sister Sadie was very proud and very protective of her new baby brother!

From a family of 3 to a family of 4!

And here is Nathan with his mommy Jennifer. Nathan has no idea yet how long his mommy and daddy have waited for this day.

Uncle Wade with our first nephew!

And I got to hold him one more time! Look at those tiny little legs!

And from Rob and Jen's baby to my baby - Andy. He is VERY into X-Box these days. He decided it was necessary to wear his Superman costume to play his Superman game. There really aren't words sometimes.......

CONGRATULATIONS Rob, Jen and Sadie on the newest member to the family. Nathan is healthy and gorgeous and definitely worth the years of waiting. He is truly one of God's greatest blessings.

FIRST Day of FIRST Grade!

Today is Avery's first day of school! She is in first grade now :) She has been very clingy lately and has been saying she doesn't want to go to school. I know once she has been there a few days that things will get better, but it has not been an easy morning!

Here she is just before heading out the door at home. She has on a new outfit and has her new backpack and lunch kit! Last year Kindergarten was only a half day. This year she goes til 3:30!

Andy had to get in on the picture taking! He has already told Wade and I that he misses Avery :(

BIG GIRL! This year her classroom is upstairs. She was excited that she has her own place to put her backpack and lunch - like all the big kids!

Here she is at her desk. Mrs. Luecke is her teacher. I went to school from K-8 with Mrs. Luecke's son! Mrs. Luecke is her main teacher, but she will have her Aunt Jen for english and math (once she returns from maternity leave) and Angie for art! Although, she officially has to call them Mrs. Hahn and Mrs. Engel!

Daddy with his "honey bear."

Brother and sister - Andrew told Avery several times this morning that she looked very pretty :)

Mommy and her smoochie!

And nonny with her oldest granddaughter! Sadie and Andrew will both start Kindergarten next year.

Avery was emotional and would not let go of Wade and I. Mrs. Luecke told us to just go and everything would be fine. We stayed for the opening chapel service and she looked sad, but ok for the most part. My friend Sarah said Avery sobbed during the service :( I know this is just temporary. In a few days she will be running into school just like she did last year.

A Little of This, A Little of That!

We have been very busy this summer. It has definitely been busier than I thought it could be.

Here is Andrew working on a letter workbook . His best letter so far is "A" - no suprise there!

This is Avery at the Mother Daughter Dinner at church!

All of the school age girls sang a song!

The little ones also colored paper dolls and here is Avery with hers!

Avery with our goddaughter Katelyn :)

Does this scare you? Well, Andrew thought it should, so I just had to get a picture!

Now are you scared? Not yet? Oh well, he tried!

Avery and Andrew found their dress up clothes yesterday. Andrew worked very hard yesterday doing chores and helping mommy. Around 5:30 he just finally gave in and passed out on the couch. He's such a cute little pirate!

Avery on the other hand did precious little yesterday. Instead of cleaning her room I would find her playing with the things she found. I'm not sure what look she was going for here, but there you have it!

Corpus Christi - Better Late Than Never!

As most of you know, Ronnie moved to Corpus Christi a few weeks ago. While we are sad to have him gone, we love going to Corpus! We stayed for 5 dys when he moved up there and got to do a few things with the kids while we were there.
Here is Avery at the museum. She loves the display with all of the differents stones and rocks!

Just a cute picture of brother and sister!

Andrew has overcome his fear of alligators - well, the fake ones anyway!

Same goes for fake snakes! He thought he could convince people he was petting a real snake :)

The giant tree trunk - we get their picture here every time!

Avery listening for the ocean....

And Andrew too!

Ummm, Wade - the public restrooms aren't here!

Avery had to have a picture with the sequined dress!

And Andrew with the tractor :)

Hi Ho Silver - Away! Of course Avery didn't understand that one!

Andrew on his "horse."

Avery is the captain of the ship!

Andrew took fishing very seriously. Avery gave up very quickly if she couldn't hook one right away. Not Andy! He kept trying til he got it!

Andrew at the kid sized lighthouse.

And Avery!

Back at PawPaw's house Andrew took a break to color!

Avery played video games.

Just an adorable picture of my little man!

A beer shirt on a toddler. I tell you, we are class all the way!

There is a great skate park near Ronnie's house. Of course Wade took some time to go down there!

More Wade.........

Again.........

Ok - he took a pretty bad spill here! He was fine though - I snapped the picture at the worst possible moment!

More Wade........

Andrew got a new skateboard and here he is showing it off.

Avery didn't get a skateboard and she wasn't too happy about it!

Andrew trying it out!

We took a trip to the USS Lexington and here is Andrew!

And Avery! I don't know that I would want either of these two at the controls :)

Andrew and his daddy on the flight deck!

Ronnie with the kids.

It was windy, but here we are!

Can I get one of these for the house? Seriously, how cool would that be?

My other little jailbird!

This is a parade float of the Lexington.

In the bunks! Avery and Andrew got to see where the crew would sleep.

I'm not sure what he is turning, but he kept saying "chugga, chugga" while he turned it!

It was H-O-T on the Lexington. Here we are, almost done! Avery is waiting for her lemonade to cool her down.

Andrew looks just about as alive as his sister!

Avery borrowed my camera and this is the picture she took of me!

And Andrew took this picture of his sister!

We didn't have time to spend at the beach, but we walked down for a few minutes. Avery went right out, but Andrew didn't want sand in his shoes....... sigh.......!

One last pic of Avery at the beach!

On the way home from Corpus we stopped at Prasek's (the best beef jerky place in the world!) and Andrew picked out this lovely gummy snake!

And so concludes our trip to Corpus Christi! We planned to go back today til Sunday, but with the yucky weather from Tropical Storm Erin we decided to just stay back!
