Baking, Ballcaps & Bowling!

Last week Thursday was Avery's day to bring snack for Kindergarten. The teacher likes it if you can tie in the snack to the letter of the week - this time it was letter "U". So, Avery helped me make a (pineapple) Upside Down Cake! It turned out great and the class loved it!

Fridays in Kindergarten are show and tell days. What you bring has to tie in with the letter of the week. Again, it was letter "U". Avery chose to bting the chinese umbrella that I used as a party decoration once.

A very sleepy Avery takes her picture with her daddy!

Andy loves to wear his daddy's hats. This UT hat fits him better than it fits Wade. He is so proud to be wearing this hat!

Friday evening mom (nonny) and dad (poppy) took us all out to dinner at Tung's! Here are Avery and Andy with Nonny!

And Poppy!

Two very tired kids fell asleep with their daddy!

Sunday was Ronnie's (paw-paw) birthday. We went to the Main Event to bowl and Avery and Andy played this horse racing game while we waited for a lane.

Daddy is showing Avery how to hold a ball. Didn't matter though because she would just crouch down and toss it from in between her legs!

Avery liked to dance while her ball S-L-O-W-L-Y mades it's way down the lane. She did well enough to beat her Uncle Adam and Uncle Alan!

Andrew, on the other hand, preferred to roll and run. We had to remind him to turn around and watch!!

Here are Andy and Daddy watching to see if the ball will even make it all the way down the lane!

And to sum it up is the face of one very happy little bowler!

Stuck Inside...

The last few days have been not so fun. The weather has been cruddy and we have been couped up indoors for a while. Avery has been coughing and now I am sick :( Oh well, it can only go up from here! And, the chicken and dumplings I am making for dinner tonight are sure to make me all better! That and the Airborne I have been loading up on....

Here is Avery reading her first story in her letter book, ALL BY HERSELF!! She is doing an awesome job.

Here is Andy with one of his favorite toys, his Doodle Dinosaur!

Mom gave me a big poster frame with a poster of a Lamborghini in it. It was Robbie's a long time ago. Andy liked it, but he wanted a picture of a Mustang, JUST LIKE HIS. I think I did a pretty good job delivering just what he wanted! He loves his poster and it is already hanging in his room.

The other night we broke out Andy's new Lego set. I have to admit that I love Legos and was pretty excited to play with them!

Avery made a little person!

I spent over half an hour making the house pictured above and below. I followed the instructions to a tee. I'm a nerd and Wade was sure to point that out to me!

There's my little house again!

Andy fell asleep in my arms the other night. This doesn't happen to often anymore!

That's it for now :)

Farmer Dad and The Little Baby Plant

Not much going on lately. Wade cleared out the garage so he could get my car inside of it. At least, that's what he said! The truth is, he was more anxious to get a certain 72 Mustang in the garage. Oh well, at least I can park inside the garage as well!

Andrew is learning about farms this week in preschool. He made a "farmer" hat and insisted that his daddy wear it! Isn't Daddy purty?

Andrew came down from naptime yesterday with this on his head. Don't know where it came from or why, but he obviously isn't interested in saying goodbye to Christmas just yet!

Outside in the empty lot next to us is nothing but dirt and weeds. Avery has taken on caring for one of the "little baby plants." She put rocks around it (so she could find it again) and watered it with no less than 6 cups of water. She cried when I told her no water cause it was just a weed. Her response was "But I have to water it. It's a little baby plant and no one is taking care of it." If she would only pay half as much attention to her room.....

Wade's new favorite hobby. I may need the garage door opener installed, but darnit, that hood needs sanding first!

The kids have bikes. The kids have cars. The kids have a swingset. The kids have loads of toys. BUT, nothing is more fun than playing around in the dirt!

New Year - 2007

Happy New Year! 2007 promises to be a busy and exciting year! Since we have moved into the new house, Avery and Andrew have learned how fun it is to play outside. Between their new cars and their new swingset (Thank you Uncle Adam, Uncle Alan and PawPaw!), they have stayed busy for hours on end. The other day they spent no less than 3 hours playing in the backyard. They were so nice to each other - most of the time! The best part was that I could see them from inside the house and do things I needed to do while they played. I've never been able to do that before.

Wade came home from work yesterday to find that Avery had hot tea ready for him!

And here is the tea party hostess herself!

Alas, Andrew never made it to the tea party. He fell asleep around 5:30 p.m. and wouldn't even wake for dinner! We ended up putting him to bed in his jeans and shirt and he slept all night long. I had to wake him up at 7 a.m. this morning! And judging by the amount of whining he is doing right now, I'd say he needs to head back to bed :)

Love is..... Letting your big sister drive YOUR car when hers experienced a battery slowdown!

Just decided to throw in a cool picture of the house at night! The kids were out for a late night driving session!

The longer they drove, the more erratic the driving became. Andrew went over the curb and into the yard. "OOPS!!"

See my knee at the bottom right on the picture? Yeah, the driving was getting really bad. I was sitting in a chair at the end of the driveway and was nearly knocked out of it by my little Speed Racer!

That's all for know! I'm off to the Bridal Extravaganza with Mom, Amy and Bethany tomorrow morning. Nothin' like being around a bunch of crazy brides-to-be for a day!!! Gosh, I think it was 10 YEARS AGO that I went to my first Bridal Extravaganza - does that make me old?? (Yes Dad, it does!) I'm only 29, but Dad reminds me that it's all downhill from here. Since he claims that I am almost 40 now (even though I'm not 30 yet), I have decided that using that kind of math, he must be approaching 80 :)
